PNC What Does It Mean?

We have entered an extremely exciting time in the life of our church. We have elected our PNC and we are moving forward with our Mission Study results.

PNC stands for Pastor Nominating Committee. This is the committee that will look at the ministry of our church and select a candidate (our next pastor,) to lead us into the future together.

Those watching online didn’t see the results of the congregational meeting where we elected the following members to serve on our PNC. Those elected are:

Sara Cavin, Steve Cavin, Margo Hood, Thirza Krohn, Scott Light, Leslie O'Brien, and Floyd Plemmons.

We are grateful for these folks’ willingness and commitment to serving in this capacity.

I would ask you all to pray for each of these members over the next few months as they diligently work to accomplish this task.

While they are working, we will be implementing the results of our Mission Study efforts. We will be enhancing our activities for Spiritual Formation and seeking to engage our young people in this way. We will be working with our current offerings for our youth and children and expanding our efforts to engage more young people in this regard.

Likewise, we will be reengaging with the activities in our church we were doing before COVID to care for folks in our community and surrounding areas.

Along with these, we will be looking at more ways to support our members’ faith development and journeys in faith.

God is leading us in these wonderful ways, and we are grateful to be a part of this ministry for Jesus Christ together.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:14-16,

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

This then is our prayer, that we will be witnesses to those around us of the power, grace, and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Spreading the light of Christ to a dark and needy world is our mission and desire.
