Doug has been the pastor at First Presbyterian Church since 2009. He grew up north of Chicago and so cheers (or more likely mourns) for the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He and his wife Katie have three kids, a daughter Addison and two sons, Jackson and Isaac. He is an avid reader, loves to fish and hike, and watches (and attempts to play) most sports. Since moving to Aberdeen he has learned to enjoy coffee and would love to sit down and talk about life and Jesus.
Doug graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Westmont College and worked for Voice of Calvary Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi. He has a passion for getting people passionate about the Bible and to see people not only learn about Jesus but to commit every aspect of their lives to Jesus.

Connecting People to God
Every human being is created to be in relationship with God. By telling God’s story faithfully and creatively we desire to be a place where the community of First Presbyterian Church and the larger community around us can connect their stories to God’s story and find their true identity in Christ.
Connecting People to One Another
The good news of the gospel creates a community like no other. God uses the deep relationships of the church to grow and nurture us in the faith and to be a foretaste of the Kingdom of God here on earth. We desire to be a place that is connecting with one another in order to be the body of Christ in all the beautiful ways the Bible teaches us to be.
Connecting people to the Community Around Us
First Presbyterian Church does not exist for our own sake but because God has something He desires to do with and through us. We desire to be a place that is constantly connecting with the residents of Grays Harbor by listening to their stories and selflessly serving this community, and beyond, with the hope, healing and restoration that is found in the good news of Jesus.
