A New Day is Here at Last!

So, we are celebrating and grateful for the lifting of the COVID 19 restrictions. This time has been long in coming. This has been an incredible time as we all sought to be safe and secure. However, we are ready to do the things we love to do including worshiping with our whole church family.

We are looking forward to and we are starting to have things more like they used to be. More music will be shared. Yeah! Communion will be served by trays. Bibles and hymnals are back in the pews. Social distancing and mask wearing has been relaxed. We are eager to get things more the way they used to be.

Still, one thing hasn’t changed and will always be the case. Whether we worship online or in person we are committed to a deep and reverent worship of God.

We lift our voices, we lift our prayers, we lift our praise to God. We listen to His word through the scriptures read and proclaimed. We sing and raise our hymns before our Lord. We give of ourselves, our time, talent, and gifts to God. Whether we are in our homes onscreen or in the pews in the sanctuary we bow in humble devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:15-17

15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Whether we are with one, two, three or thousands this is what we are to be about in worship. This hasn’t changed. This will not change.

A new day is here. We are getting back together in many ways. Still, the same thing continues, as we come before God in worship and praise. May our voices be raised to God; may our actions be blessed by God; and may the desires of our heart be aligned with God’s will now and always.
